The $25,000 WPT Championship is down to the final table of six players (with a hefty $1,618,344 going to the winner) but the loudest cheer may have come a few days ago with the elimination of Ali Tekintamgac in 37th place, 10 spots away from the money bubble.

If you keep an eye on the live poker tournament circuit, you’ve likely heard of the antics of Ali T. The 2010 WPT Barcelona winner was booted from the Partouche Poker Tour final table before it resumed action last year, after allegations surfaced that he’d cheated at both that tournament and the WPT Barcelona event he won.

The video below gives a glimpse into the issue, as at both events he was accompanied by a very rotund “blogger” who actually didn’t blog much but stayed parked behind Ali T’s opponents, seemingly much more interested in trying to get a peek at their hole cards and then making assorted hand signals:

As if that wasn’t enough, Ali T and crew were at it again on the tournament circuit a few months back, getting booted from a tournament in Europe after once again trying similar antics. In the interest of fairness, a French court is hearing his case at the moment as to whether or not he was wrongfully ejected from Partouche, so innocent until proven guilty, blah blah blah.

But let’s just say when there’s that much smoke, there’s usually fire, and not too many folks crying for poor Ali T when he busted near the bubble at the WPT Championship.
